Conceptually I like it a lot. I like the combination of the tibetan skull with the demon face, as well as the chrysanthemum.
A few items of note:
I find the image a little cluttered for a tattoo design. There is not a firm focal point, so placement on the body could play a huge part in the final appearance of the design. Going darker on some of the shading may cause the individual items to stand out from each other. Color may be another option that would cause the design to pop a little better.
The other thing I noticed is the flow of the brow from the demon to the eye of the skull. It's a bit disjointed in how it just stops in the eye. I might have just puller it to a point or curled upwards a bit. Something the continue its flow a bit better.
All in all, a very enjoyable piece with great imagery. As with most your art I am constantly impressed and inspired. Well done!!
Just beautiful with a strong, energetic fervour in concept & design. There is a sense of tug-and-push b/w the two masks and the way their glares are focused on each other, conflict in merging.
Even the hannya's horns & the skull's lotus-like eyebrow section is very organic and form & feel, more closer to fabric or tissue if nothing else. The slight flourish of fleshy petals and leaves only further amp the overall "living" quality of the concept, taking these masques beyond symbol and giving them each soul, albeit a temporary, chaotic nature.
Anyways Awesome work and congratulations on the DailyDev! You owe it to yourself!
