I think you have done extremely well just using watercolors and a marker, and i think it would work really well on the ribs. The way the background just blends in nicely with the overall sinister feeling you get from the eyes is great. With that said though I think more eyes should of been present in the backdrop than just that little collection of them in my opinion. The detail included in her snake like body is brilliant, and the color used for it definitely helps emphasize just how much work has gone into it.

I really like this piece of artwork, well done.

The way the eyes meld into the background seem discordant to me. I would personally go for deeper or vibrant greens where the background meets her serpentine body, to separate the two so they don't get too muddied when you tattoo it. I would like to see more flow in the bottom part of the body that is holding her up, but that is only me. This definitely works well for the ribs. i would do more of a Japanese inspired background with more black but I am biased towards Asian designs! Beautiful work. Can't wait to see the tattoo!
